Tan A Supermarket: Your Destination for Authentic Asian Groceries in Richmond

Best place to get Asian groceries, spices and sauces at a very reasonable price. The butcher counter in the back sells unfrozen fishes and fresh meat portions.

My wife likes east Asian food therefore she likes to shop here. Tan A sells rice and rice cookers, good vegetables, mushrooms and tasty snacks. I found it fun to shop in this store. Downside, the check out counter lady always talking on phone every time we shop. Not very helpful.

Nice hole in the wall Vietnamese grocery store. They also sell a limited selection of fresh made entrees (goi cuon, banh tet), baked goods (sesame balls, egg tarts, banh da lon, and desserts (che banh lot and banana) . There is a $10 credit minimum, just a heads up.

I went back this time for a grocery trip. Their store no longer smells bad. Staffs were nice. They still have many variety. Check the frozen section for a specific frozen products that you might not be able to find at other stores (herbs, fish, ice-cream, and etc.)They should expand their store and make the aisles bigger. Check your expiration dates before buying!

Lots of unique items and worth a look! From the moment you walk in the door you can expect to find various isles filled with loads of unique and exotic products and ingredients. You are sure to find something new and interesting here to take home with you, the staff is friendly and while not very chatty in English, I have felt very at ease and un rushed when doing my shopping and checking out with my purchases.

I love the variety of fresh food and herbs here! All of the employees have been very nice and helpful. Prices seem very fair on most things. It is generally clean tho you can always smell the fresh seafood which a lot of people do not like. Your goods are packed into a box at check out so no need for any bags!

Tan A is one of the best Asian markets I’ve been to. It’s not the biggest but it offers everything you might need from fresh produce to frozen, sweets, freshly made food, spices, flours, teas, and plenty other goodies as well as home goods. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I love Tan A!

Nice medium sized and very well stocked Asian grocery store. I love the kitchen supply area. Easy to get in and out quickly at this great location. If you don’t feel like dealing with the longer lines at Lotte, then try this store.
